Orla and her coffee jars

Like many others I've spent the last few weeks hunting down jars of coffee.  Why would I be doing such a thing you may well ask?! I blame social media, really I do!

Some might say I'm a marketing mans dream,  in part, I know that not to be true. Many adverts on T.V get the small print scrutiny from me, products that get 60% positive feedback compared to their usual brand, when tested on 90 people, doesn't cut the mustard and frankly don't impress.

But, here's my problem, brand my favourite coffee in Orla Kiely printed jars, in three different patterns...well that's a different matter. After seeing envying them being happily displayed in kitchens across the land, panic sets in! Will I find them before they sell out? (after all they are limited edition! )

The answer; Yes, I did an online order and got them delivered to my door.  I'm keen, but a little lazy, panic over!

It's not the first time I've had a rush to the head over a product I've seen on the Internet.
Anyone remember the hunt for the Aldi fake crochet table cloth!  Three purchased, thank you!

I like things that cheer up the ordinary tasks in life, so with that in mind here's a new one to look out for...Plastic Dolly Pegs! They grip like an all in wrestler, don't leave "wood stains" on your clothes and they come from Poundland. A whole British pound for a little updated nostalgia when hanging out your briefs, marvellous!

Thursdays Finds

Last Thursday I had coffee and a mouch about with my Mum, we both have Thursdays off so if neither of us has anything planned, we get together for a couple of hours. This week she came to me. Firstly, and quite rightly, we hit the charity shops and then onto lunch…here are my finds

These are so sweet...

How delicious are these? That sunburst lid is just gorgeous...

Now this chappie was love at first sight, my other half thinks it is "disgusting and naff!" (direct quote)
I'm taking votes on this, not trying to sway the vote but I LOVE HIM/HER!

*Thursday was a good day!

*if your interested, Mum bought two pyrex casserole dishes with lids, a pyrex butter dish all in the Chelsea pattern and a vase.

What do you call a fast cake...

the view from the John Lewis cafe

On Sunday having spent a good hour browsing in John Lewis (love that shop!) And another half hour having tea and watching the world go by, when we finally emerged on to the chilly streets of Kingston clutching a new bed sheet purchase with a gift token (Egyptian cotton, how posh!)

With a quick browse around TK Maxx, you have to be in the mood for this shop, me, I go there for the bakeware and interiors and look what I found, this lovely tea towel!

Last week we tuned in every night to watch the Comic Relief Bake-off. We thoroughly enjoyed each episode, I even downloaded some recipes to try. I made this little purchase to go towards Comic Relief day funds. The Tea Towels are by Emma Bridgewater and there is several designs to choose from.

I love the bake-off series, It has just the right mix of fun and seriousness with the steely eye Paul and a twinkle eyed Mary, she's a real inspiration to all bakers. Soggy bottoms and all!

On another note, I have finally wrapped my swap partners gift Little Dotty Bird and will try to post on Friday (whoop!)
