What do you call a fast cake...

the view from the John Lewis cafe

On Sunday having spent a good hour browsing in John Lewis (love that shop!) And another half hour having tea and watching the world go by, when we finally emerged on to the chilly streets of Kingston clutching a new bed sheet purchase with a gift token (Egyptian cotton, how posh!)

With a quick browse around TK Maxx, you have to be in the mood for this shop, me, I go there for the bakeware and interiors and look what I found, this lovely tea towel!

Last week we tuned in every night to watch the Comic Relief Bake-off. We thoroughly enjoyed each episode, I even downloaded some recipes to try. I made this little purchase to go towards Comic Relief day funds. The Tea Towels are by Emma Bridgewater and there is several designs to choose from.

I love the bake-off series, It has just the right mix of fun and seriousness with the steely eye Paul and a twinkle eyed Mary, she's a real inspiration to all bakers. Soggy bottoms and all!

On another note, I have finally wrapped my swap partners gift Little Dotty Bird and will try to post on Friday (whoop!)

Snowy Sunday

A lie in with breakfast in bed, coal fire warming the house as the snow falls outside and a little crafty love to ease my cold. Looks like Peter got the right idea too x

It's Snowing!

Yesterday it actually did what the weather man said, being down south when snow is mentioned you never really think it will be you that gets it. I looked on the BBC weather site on Thursday and it said that by 9am we would have snow…as I walked to work it started to do just that, tiny little specks at first and by the time I got there, big fluffy blobs.

I love snow as long as I don't have to drive in it! I'm lucky enough to live close enough to work to be able to walk and if I wanted I could work from home.

an hour after I'd arrived!

By three o'clock they sent us home!  So it was a date with the sofa, Jim-jams and UK Gold for me!

Hope you're all safe and enjoying it too x

Happy New Year

I spent the evening with my Mum yesterday (girly time) and today we spent the day with Bob’s family, which has been lovely. Now we’re watching old films, eating peanuts, drinking tea in the warm. As a nod to the evening festivities I have painted my nails in Rimmel Precious Stones Diamond dust nail polish.

Wherever you are, who ever your with and what ever your doing, I hope you have fun.

Taking it easy

Well that's the "Big Day" done, now we're on the wind down. Elastic trousers are the order of the day as is festive socks and a plump array of cushions.

I've made my way through two Carry On's and I'm waiting for Carry On Camping (at your Convenience is my favourite).

I've nibbled through my own body weight in mince pies, homemade chocs, toasted cheese sandwiches and not to mention my first ever attempt at a Homemade Christmas Cake! (very nice it is too)

I hope you all had a wonderful day and have enjoyed it as much as we have x

This will be taking place in a fantastic gallery space/come shop, know as ' Colour Makes People Happy' which proudly claims to be the longest shop in South London!
